SUMMER IMPACT TOUR
BRING ALICE STREET TO YOUR CITY
Partnering with local organizations and arts groups, ALICE STREET’s Summer Impact Tour uses the film to spark important conversations about public art, gentrification, and coalition building in cities across California (and the country). Events include a screening of the 70-minute film followed by a discussion and Q&A featuring key local stakeholders.
ALICE STREET IMPACT SCREENINGS & DISCUSSIONS CAN…
- Crowdsource ideas & strategies to protect cultural communities from displacement
- Build cross-cultural coalitions centered on achieving justice for all
- Support local organizations by engaging people in a concrete way to take action
Following the tour, ALICE STREET will host “BUILDING CREATIVE & INCLUSIVE COMMUNITIES IN CALIFORNIA: A STRATEGIC CONVENING OF ORGANIZERS & ARTISTS.”
The convening will include three workshops on important topics covered in the film 1) Inclusive Planning Policies: Best Practice Models from Progressive Cities, 2) Multiracial Coalition-Building: Exploring Lessons from Anti-Displacement Organizing, and 3) Community Benefit Agreements: Do’s & Don’ts for Negotiating with Developers.
